The Best Defence Program
Counter-Violence & Advocacy Training
A note on COVID-19 (novel coronavirus disease)
At The Best Defence Program Counter-Violence & Advocacy Training Inc., health and safety is of the utmost importance.
We have and will continue to maintain strict hygiene standards in our programs. All sessions have alcohol-based hand sanitizer available to participants and we will continue to encourage its use. Instructors carry their own personal dispensers of hand sanitizer and use it in combination with regular hand washing. We also maintain strict standards when it comes to our equipment: all mats and other gear gets wiped down with disinfectant between sessions and a more thorough cleaning takes place between programs. Any equipment or gear requiring laundering is either collected between sessions in sealed containers for proper laundering or designated single-use and sent home with its user.
In light of guidelines on large gatherings, some of our scheduled programming may be affected. Where possible, programs will be rescheduled or cancelled and deposits will be returned accordingly. Because COVID-19 can have a disproportionate and profoundly negative outcome with immunocompromised individuals, this step is necessary for the protection of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Remember: a Live Fence can be helpful in establishing a physical perimeter, as advised by current social-distancing recommendations. The right fence is adaptable, not rigid, and is part of sending the appropriate message.
We look forward to getting through this together.
